There is a new format this year for the ranch clinics at Homestead Horse Events. We have scheduled one weekend a month, May through September. Saturday will focus on horsemanship and ranch obstacles with no cow work. Sunday will focus on ranch riding and cow-work with no obstacles. Participants can sign up for either one or both days. This is a great chance to ride on a beautiful, private 350 acre ranch with many natural and man-made obstacles. This is a fun, outside learning environment for you and your horse. We will also be continuing the Thursday half day cow-working sessions.
Saturday horsemanship clinics start at 9 a.m. with a 1 hour lunch break and end at 4 p.m. Cost is $185. You will need to bring a lunch as none is provided on Saturday.
Thursday cow work sessions start at 9 a.m., end at 12 and focus on cow work. So be saddled and warmed up by 9 a.m.. Cost is $75. Thursdays start May 25th and run through August.
After a short warm up in the arena all riding will be done outside on the ranch. All cattle will be worked Rodear style outside of the arena. Clinics at Homestead are for people who want to work on Horsemanship and cow working outside of an arena.
Also new this year will be two day combined horsemanship and cow-working clinics at Kara’s Arena on Meridian in Victor. Working on the horsemanship and cow-working skills to position, control, block and drive cattle by yourself and as part of a team. In addition to the big arena we will have a sorting pen set up as well. 2 Day weekend clinic cost is $450. Starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. with a 1 hour lunch break. Bring your own lunch as none will be provided.
